Josselyn is pleased to announce that Heather O’Donnell will join the organization as Chief Public Policy Officer, effective June 23.

Heather brings a strong track record of leadership and advocacy focused on improving access to mental health services, closely aligning with Josselyn’s mission to improve lives through quality mental health care. Throughout her career, she has championed legislation that secured a Medicaid rate increase, strengthened insurance coverage for behavioral health services, and advanced additional efforts that expanded access to care for more people.

A respected and well-known advocate in the behavioral health field, Heather joins Josselyn at a pivotal time as the organization continues to expand access to mental health care across the communities it serves.

“Heather’s experience, leadership, and commitment to expanding access to quality mental health care make her an exceptional addition to Josselyn,” said Josselyn CEO and President Susan Resko. “Her expertise will help strengthen our mission and broaden our impact across the communities we serve.”

Most recently, Heather served as Director of Behavioral Health Strategy & Partnerships at the DuPage County Health Department. Prior to that role, she was Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Advocacy at Thresholds.

“I’m excited to continue advancing behavioral health policy and expanding access to care in this new role,” said O’Donnell.

Josselyn looks forward to Heather’s leadership and the continued advancement of its efforts to expand access to quality mental health care throughout the region.
