EMDR is an evidence-based, extensively researched psychotherapy to treat people experiencing a wide range of complex issues. EMDR has proven clinical results treating:
- trauma
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- anxiety
- depression
- substance use
- obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
EMDR allows people to revisit painful memories in a safe way, helping the brain reprocess and store them properly. Using simple movements, like following a therapist’s fingers with your eyes, EMDR helps calm the body’s natural fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response so those memories no longer feel overwhelming.

What To Expect
Everyone’s journey with EMDR is unique, but the process follows a clear, structured path.
Clients learn grounding techniques and ways to manage overwhelming emotions. Using guided movements, like eye movements or tapping, EMDR helps activate the brain’s natural healing process.
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn’t require discussing every detail of a traumatic event. Instead, clients process their experiences step by step and often in fewer sessions than other types of therapy.
