Celebrating Josselyn CEO and President Susan Resko

This year marks a milestone at Josselyn: Susan Resko’s 10th anniversary as CEO and President.

Over the past decade, Susan has guided Josselyn through a period of extraordinary transformation, always with a steadfast commitment to the vision of Mental health for all.

A Decade of Growth
When Susan Resko stepped into the role of CEO and President in 2015, Josselyn was a small but mighty organization with 12 therapists and a $1 million budget. Ten years later, Josselyn has grown into a thriving network of nearly 300 professionals serving close to 8,000 clients every year. With locations across Grayslake, Highland Park, Northbrook, Northfield, and Waukegan, Josselyn’s reach and impact have multiplied, bringing quality, comprehensive mental health care closer to those who need it most.

Strengthening Community Care
Susan’s leadership has ensured that critical community services remain strong and sustainable. In 2023, she guided the consolidation with Family Service of Lake County, protecting nearly 100 years of mental health programming for future generations. She has also prioritized building partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local governments to expand access to care. By addressing challenges such as cost, stigma, and limited availability, Susan has advanced efforts to make support more inclusive and within reach for individuals and families throughout the region.

Award-Winning Leadership
In 2025, Susan was honored by Crain’s Chicago Business as one of its Notable Leaders in Philanthropy. This recognition celebrates her impact in expanding access to mental health services across the region and her ability to lead with vision and innovation. Josselyn’s mission-driven growth has also earned a place on Crain’s Fast 50 list in both 2024 and 2025, where it stood out as the only nonprofit recognized among Chicagoland’s fastest-growing organizations.
