NBC 5 Journalist Lauren Petty, host of the weekly news segment “Mental Health Monday,” interviewed Josselyn CEO and President Susan Resko, Josselyn therapists Chloe Brodner, LCPC, and Camilo Morales, and a client named Robert as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Robert was eager to share how Josselyn helped make a dramatic difference in his life, restore hope, and give him a new outlook for the future. As he told Lauren, “I didn’t know that there were places that could help, so I turned to hard drugs for a lot of years…I did an intake with Josselyn, and I started seeing my therapist, and my therapist helped me through a lot of really hard times.”

The need for high-quality, coordinated mental health care has never been greater, and Josselyn continues to expand services to meet the needs of our clients and the community. As Susan Resko shared, “We get over 1,000 calls every month. It’s just incredible. The pandemic has subsided, but the need for mental health really has not.”

Through traditional therapy, psychiatric care, support groups, and expressive therapy – as  well as newer treatments such as eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR) – Josselyn provides comprehensive care for children and adults from more than 300 local communities. Thanks to the generosity of many, we are able to meet this vast need and serve 8,000 clients annually, including many who are low-income or have limited or no insurance.

Watch the segment below and share the story with friends, family and co-workers through your social media platforms. Together, let’s continue to support mental health awareness and remind others about the life-changing programs available at Josselyn as we fulfill our vision of Mental health for all!
