Young Artists: Child Art Therapy Group

Share and Receive Support Alongside Peers

Purpose

To provide skills and tools for emotional regulation, as well as a safe space for children to express their thoughts and emotions while developing their strengths and interpersonal relationships.

  • Participant Details – Open to children aged 8-12, who may struggle with emotional regulation, self-expression, and building peer relationships.
  • Date & Time – Meets Wednesdays in the Art Room at 1850 Oak, Northfield, 4 – 5pm (Weekly)
  • Framework – Group will begin with a check-in. Leaders will then introduce the art therapy directive for the day. Participants will be encouraged to work collaboratively with each other while learning skills for emotional regulation. Each session/art therapy directive will focus on a specific skill. During the last 10 minutes of the group, participants will assist in cleaning up art materials before checking out.
