Josselyn signed the pledge for Cook County’s United Against Hate campaign.

Hatred towards people because of their color, religious beliefs, place of origin, and gender identity continues to permeate our society. Josselyn’s vision is Mental health for all, and we work to support people who are historically marginalized or unrepresented.

This is particularly important because statistics confirm that these groups suffer from mental health challenges at a much greater rate than the average population.

According to 2017 data from American Psychiatric Association:

  • LGBTQ youth have a suicide attempt rate four times higher than heterosexual youth;
  • 7 million Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have a mental and/or substance use disorder and are the least likely to seek help than any other racial/ethnic group;
  • About one out of three refugees, asylum-seekers and survivors of forced displacement experience high rates of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD).

One of Josselyn’s primary commitments is to provide culturally appropriate therapy; this is why more than 40% of our clinicians directly reflect the diverse populations we serve.

Josselyn thanks Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton for launching this campaign. Please consider joining the efforts of Commissioner Britton and others and sign the pledge today.
