Tween Self-Compassion Therapy Group

Share and Receive Support Alongside Peers

This is an 8-week remote therapy group for Josselyn clients who are 8-to-12-years-old. Weekly 45-minute sessions will focus on topics surrounding self-concept, worth, and confidence. We will discuss mindfulness strategies, grounding techniques, self-care, and pull from values work to educate tweens on self-compassion and caring for their body and mind.

  • Participant Details – Client must meet the following criteria to be eligible for group:
    • Client is between the ages of 8-12.
    • Client is interested in learning about and engaging in activities related to self-compassion, self-esteem, and self-worth.
    • Client is safe and able to self-reflect and engage with others in a remote group setting.
    • Client is looking to engage with others for support and learning.
    • Client is looking for extra support outside of individual therapy.
    • Client has engaged in individual therapy for a minimum of 3 sessions OR clients who have engaged in sessions consistently for at least 1 month.
  • Framework – Each session will include a brief icebreaker or opening question followed by the introduction of the week’s topic. The group will then have an activity to engage in the topic for the week, with time at the end to share any reactions or reflections with the group.
