Josselyn is deeply committed to the professional growth and development of its clinicians, recognizing that high-quality mental health care is built on continuous learning. As part of this ongoing investment, Josselyn regularly offers specialized training and free continuing education opportunities that support clinical excellence and strengthen services for the community.

One recent example of this commitment was a training titled Couples and Relationships: Assessment and Therapy. The training focused on equipping clinicians with culturally informed, skills-based approaches for working with couples and individuals in intimate relationships

The training was led by Tamara Sher, Ph.D., Professor and Director of Clinical Training at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Dr. Sher brought extensive academic and clinical expertise to the training, guiding participants through assessment strategies, therapeutic interventions, and considerations of culture and context in relationship-focused work. Reflecting on her experience with Josselyn staff, Dr. Sher shared, “I have truly loved this experience. The ‘students’ are smart, engaged, clinically talented, and so intellectually curious.”

Clinicians who participated in the training highlighted its practical value and relevance to their work. Melissa Kalil, a Josselyn therapist, described how the experience enhanced her clinical practice. “The training provided a helpful framework for working with couples and provided practical, applicable tools to use in session,” she said. “It expanded my approach to supporting clients through complex relational challenges. This will directly benefit the clients I serve and has provided a foundation to continue building upon in my work with couples.”

By offering specialized training and no-cost continuing education, Josselyn invests in clinician development, builds clinical confidence, and ensures care is grounded in best practices and cultural responsiveness. This commitment strengthens its workforce and supports the delivery of effective, compassionate mental health care for the community.
