Josselyn proudly marked the grand opening of its new Waukegan location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrating a significant expansion in its mission to provide accessible, high-quality mental health care in Lake County. More than 50 local leaders, supporters, and community members attended the event held at 204 N. Genesee Street on March 24.

Five years ago, Josselyn opened its first Waukegan office with no existing clients. Today, that number has grown to 4,000 individuals—half of Josselyn’s total client base—underscoring the critical demand for mental health resources in the region.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from Illinois State Senator Adriane Johnson, Waukegan Mayor Ann Taylor, and key philanthropic and business leaders. The expansion was made possible through the generous support of Lake County, Endeavor Health, and local legislators, including Senator Johnson, whose contributions have played a vital role in bringing much-needed services to the area.

“Endeavor Health is honored to support Josselyn through our Community Investment Fund, recognizing their vital role in serving the changing needs for mental health services in our community,” said Gina Sharp, President of Endeavor Health Linden Oaks Hospital and System Executive of the Behavioral Health service line. “This impressive expansion in Waukegan reflects Josselyn’s dedication and impact, creating new opportunities to serve even more individuals and families across Lake County.”

Josselyn CEO and President Susan Resko emphasized the growing demand for affordable and accessible mental health care. “The overwhelming growth in Waukegan over the past five years reaffirms the need for our services, and this new space will allow us to reach even more individuals and families in need,” she said.

With a vision of Mental health for all, Josselyn remains committed to ensuring that quality, comprehensive mental health care is available to those who need it most. The new Waukegan location is a testament to that commitment, offering therapy, psychiatry, case management, and specialized programs for individuals of all ages.
