Josselyn, a beacon of hope for mental health care in northeastern Illinois since 1951, proudly announced the public launch of its 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign on April 24. This landmark initiative aims to raise $20 million to enhance and expand Josselyn’s facilities and services, ensuring mental health care access for 10,000 people by 2026.

The celebratory event took place on April 24th and featured distinguished guests and speakers including Congressman Brad Schneider, who has been a vocal supporter of mental health in Congress. Congressman Schneider addressed the vital role of community mental health services and the significant impact of organizations like Josselyn in the national healthcare landscape. “Mental health is crucial for the well-being of our communities. I’m proud to support [Josselyn’s] success and work with them to eliminate barriers to mental health services,” he said.

The event included a reception where attendees learned more about Josselyn’s services, impact, and plans to grow its therapy, psychiatry, case management, supported employment, psychological testing, and specialized youth programming. Tours of the facility were available, showcasing the resources and care environments that contributions to the Capital Campaign will help improve.

“The 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign will allow us to go and grow where the need is. Josselyn’s vision of Mental health for all means that we work hard to help everyone receive care, regardless of age, income, language, or background. We want Josselyn to continue to offer affordable, comprehensive, quality care for the next 75 years,” said Josselyn CEO & President Susan Resko.

To date Josselyn has raised $17.3 million toward its $20 million goal. Josselyn Board of Directors Chairperson Pablo Alvarez noted, “We are extraordinarily grateful for the support of generous donors and advocates like Congressman Schneider, Schreiber Philanthropy, and Northwestern Medicine. To reach our goal, we encourage everyone who cares about mental health to contribute. Who among us hasn’t been impacted by a mental health issue, either ourselves or with a family member, friend, or colleague? We invite everyone to participate in this important cause.”
