A Night for Josselyn 2022 was a wild success at the first in-person gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic. The November 5th event at Ravinia Festival raised more than $350,000 — a record-setting amount — to support Josselyn’s vision of Mental health for all.

“I am extremely grateful for the generous community of support that Josselyn has and the enormous ways people showed up to help us with our signature year-end event,” stated Susan Resko, Josselyn’s CEO and President.

More than 190 attendees enjoyed an evening of cocktails, food and conversation and an inspiring program that featured rising singer/songwriter Hans Williams. His message of resiliency in the face of trauma struck a chord with guests. Williams, a senior at Tulane University, was a first responder in his early weeks at college to a dormmate’s death by suicide. The experience has made him a vocal advocate of reducing the stigma of mental health care.

Guests were also inspired by Pablo Alvarez, a Josselyn board member who was a first responder during the Highland Park Independence Day tragic shooting. He shared with the audience about the many hats he wears in the community – Moraine Township trustee, Highland Park High School counselor, chess coach, and proud husband and father. “Josselyn responded immediately and without hesitation to the call for mental health workers for the Family Assistance Center that opened on July 5th at Highland Park High School,” Alvarez said. “Josselyn continues to care for the many Spanish-speaking Highland Park and Highwood residents that are still recovering from the mental and emotional toll.”

The funds raised from A Night for Josselyn 2022 will help support the ever-increasing number of people seeking mental health care. Philanthropic dollars help make mental health care with Josselyn an option for those who might not otherwise be able to afford care.

Josselyn is a nonprofit community health provider offering a full range of affordable, effective mental health services including therapy, psychiatry, case management, and employment support. Our vision of providing Mental health for all ensures everyone can access needed mental health treatment and support. Josselyn serves more than 4,400 Chicagoland residents, a number that grows each week.
