Between September 15 and October 15, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time to recognize the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements in the United States.

In the U.S., Latinx people still lag behind other ethnic and racial groups in terms of equitable access to health care. According to a Mental Health America report, 18% of Latinx people in the U.S. do not have health insurance.

Additionally, poor communication with health care providers is frequently an issue. When there is a language barrier, bilingual patients who are evaluated in English instead of Spanish, results in Latinx people being more frequently undertreated than whites.

This is why Josselyn believes in Mental health for all. We remain committed to seeking out quality, compassionate, mental health professionals to serve our clients and are proud that we employ more than 30 staff who are bilingual in Spanish and almost 25% of our staff are Hispanic.
