Improving Comfort and Accessibility for Clients
Josselyn has announced the near completion of a major renovation project at its headquarters, located at 1135 Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook. This construction effort is part of the organization’s continued commitment to providing a welcoming, accessible, and client-centered environment.
A central component of the renovation is the expansion of the waiting room, which will offer significantly more space and comfort. The expanded space enables the intake team to greet clients more personally and to foster a greater sense of comfort from the moment they arrive. A designated area for children to engage in quiet activities, such as drawing, has also been introduced to further support families during their visits. An accessibility ramp was also installed to provide easier and safer entry for all clients.
Additional renovations include the build-out of the fourth floor, which will roughly double the number of offices to more than 40, equating to increased capacity for over 1,000 additional clients to be served annually, and will introduce play and group therapy rooms as well as dedicated art therapy space.
The renovation also includes upgraded flooring, new paint, and the removal of several interior walls to open the space in the waiting room. These changes not only modernize the facility but also reflect Josselyn’s goal of improving service delivery by enhancing the physical environment in which care is provided.
Josselyn CEO and President Susan Resko highlighted the significance of the improvements, stating, “Our clients deserve a space that reflects the quality and compassion of the care we provide. This expansion is a tangible example of our mission in action, ensuring that everyone who comes to Josselyn feels welcomed and supported.”
Plans are already underway for a similar renovation of the third floor next year, further expanding Josselyn’s capacity to serve the community. In addition, early planning has begun for a therapeutic garden on the south side of the property.
