Objectives At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key Latino cultural traits
  • Understand barriers to care and other factors impacting mental health service delivery to this population
  • Integrate culturally sensitive recommendations to your practice
Alejandro Martinez Jr., MSW-LISW-S

Presenter Bio Alejandro Martinez Jr. is a licensed independent social worker and owner of a mental health private practice helping individuals throughout Ohio. Alejandro is one of very few Latino, male, Spanish-speaking therapists in the state providing culturally appropriate services for the Hispanic/Latine population. He has worked with various local colleges and universities, community behavioral health organizations, and non-profits to support and uplift the mental health of Latine and LGBTQ+ populations and has given presentations on the stigma surrounding Latine mental health for groups in Cleveland, Dayton, Columbus, and more. He was selected as one of the 2022 100+ Latinos Cleveland Must Know.​
