Co-chairs Ila S. Rothschild and Gary Quinn
110 guests
attended our 2006 Fall Benefit on November 17 at the exclusive and
elegant
Mid-America Club
to honor supporters of Excellence in the Field of Mental Health. The evening
was highlighted by acknowledging Regina Siske and The Child and Adolescent
Bipolar Foundation (CABF) for their commitment and accomplishments in the
area of
Mental Health.
In addition, the evening featured a performance by Andrew Guo,
a cocktail reception with entertainment by John Buccheri, pianist and former
professor of music at Northwestern University and dinner and a cash raffle.
The
Benefit netted approximately $30,000 and all proceeds will be used to
help The
Josselyn

individual/family/group therapy, medication
monitoring, referrals and community education programs for children, adolescents
and adult in the North Shore community.

7-year old pianist Andrew Guo, a student of Emilio del Rosario and composition student of Matt Hagle, was the first place winner of the 2005 Music Festival in honor of Confucius Piano Competition and 2006 Society of American Musicians Competition. Andrew began piano lessons at age 4 and, since age 5, has played in a dozen public concerts. Andrew was recently selected to be featured in HBO Family’s newly proposed documentary program, Music in Me, which tells the stories of young, talented instrumental musicians, age 7-11, who are making connections between their music and the world around them. Andrew is currently a second-grade student at the Gifted Center at Bell Elementary School in Chicago. Aside from music, Andrew also loves drawing, studying science and playing sports.
